Emily Paavola is counsel with the National Habeas Assistance and Training Project. She practices in Columbia, South Carolina. From 2008 to 2017, she ran the South Carolina Death Penalty Resource Center (now called Justice 360). Prior to that, she worked as a project fellow for the Cornell Death Penalty Project. Ms. Paavola has authored several publications designed to assist criminal defense attorneys in their representation of clients facing the death penalty.
